Deartment of Paediatrics and care:

The renovated Paediatric and Neonatal Department of CMRI was inaugurated in Mid-2005. The bright and airy Paediatric ward has lB beds. Staffed with competent Paediatric nurses, it deals with a wide variety of childhood illnesses. The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is the only one of its kind in Kolkata. This 4 bedded Unit provides critical support to patients with life threatening conditions. It also has state-of-the-art equipment to deal with all kinds of neonatal problems. CMRI also has a "Stepdown Unit" and an isolation room for neonates and children.

Consultants of this Department not only deal with general paediatrics,
paediatric surgery and neonatology but also paediatric subspecialties like cardiology, nephrology, critical care, haematology and oncology. The Department has an active teaching & training programme and has successfully hosted a Paediatric Subspecialty Symposium recently.

A very well-equipped paediatric intensive care unit and paediatric ward staffed with dedicated nurses and physicians provide highly professional and personalised care to sick children in a friendly environment.

Critically ill neonates, children requiring complex surgical procedures for ailments ranging from renal failures to malignant tumors are rendered a multi-disciplinary approach ensuring optimal care.

With an eye to the future the institute has developed a world-class integrated paediatric centre in eastern india. The centre having special accent on sub-specialities has imparted highly specialised care to ~ants and children " suffering from complex problems.
