The department of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery is one of the earliest of such department in the private health care sectors in Eastern India. This department has always been an emergency and tertiary referral centre.

Birla Heart Research Centre Hospital (a sister concern of CMRI) situated in the same premises with full diagnostic and therapeutic facilities.
