Academics:

As its name suggests CMRI (The Calcutta Medical Research Institute) is totally committed to enhancement of Academic Knowledge and Research Facilities, apart from treatment of patients and diagnostics services.

Post graduate DNB courses are being conducted in the departments of:

  • General Medicine – 1 seat

  • General Surgery – 2 seats

  • Gastro Medicine – 2 seats

  • Gastrointestinal Surgery – 2 seats

  • Gyneacology & Obstetrics – 2 seats

  • Family Medicine – 4 seats

A fellowship course in Critical Care Medicine of six seats is also conducted in department of Critical Care Medicine, CMRI which is affiliated to Critical Care Education Foundation, Mumbai.

These courses are conducted through:

  • Regular classes and lectures

  • Distance education and telemedicine facilities

  • Well equipped state-of-art library

  • 24 hours Internet facilities

CMRI is one of the very few centers selected for the prestigious MRCS examination conducted by the Royal College of Surgeons, UK.

In addition to all these programmes, regular CMEs, Seminars, Clinical Meetings, Grand-rounds, symposiums and lectures are held regularly to keep the staff abreast of the latest development in the field of medicine.

School of Nursing: CMRI had setup the school of nursing in 1970 which is recognized by West Bengal Nursing Council and affiliated to the Indian Nursing Council. The school offers general nursing midwifery (GNM) course:
